Chapel Hill Denham Securities has been declared the best performing broker by Volume according to broker performance report released by the Nigerian Stock Exchange for the month of September, 2015. Within the period under review, the top 10 brokers were responsible for 52% or 7.29 million of the trades done at the NSE. Of that number, 9.28% or 1.3 million trades were done by Chapel Hill Denham Securities. With 1.078 million trades’ representing7.74%, CSL Securities Ltd took the second place while the 10th position was taken by Cashcraft Securities with .323 million trades or 2.32% of trades done in the market. However, Chapel Hill Denham Securities could not retain their leadership position when the performance report is viewed on the basis of value of the trades. The enviable position of the top broker by value was taken by Stanbic IBTC stock broker’s ltd which did 0.975 trades amounting to N18.6 billion while Chapel Hill Denham Securities came second with its trades being valued at N15.96 billion. Cashcraft Securities, which came 10th by volume, could not make it to the league table on value basis. While the top 10 brokers had 52.38% of trades done to their name, they have 67.58% of the value of trades done in September attached to their name as well.
