While Nigerian stocks have shown consistent sign of bearish trends, the Stanbic IBTC Absolute Fund rose 1.03% last month bringing its YTD performance to 11.25%. By contrast, the Nigeria Allshare Index returned - 6.53% in October, leading to a YTD return of -15.81%. The fund which traded at a NAV price of N1,910.24 on the last day of FY 2014 is now worth N2,134.14 leaving investors with some mouth watering unrealized gain.

On an inception to date basis, the Stanbic IBTC Absolute Fund boasts of a 41.67% return and it is one of the few funds that still trade above their initial offer price. The biggest story about this N3.3 billion fund is that it has only not made one monthly loss since 2013 returned. The fund returned 9.27% and 12.61% in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
